In-House Marketing Training Session With A Client Team

AI and AI search training for marketing teams

Your team has been using ChatGPT for a year. That is not the same as your business being findable inside it.

Those two things get confused constantly, and the confusion is expensive. One is a productivity change that happens at individual desks. The other is a distribution change that decides whether a buyer ever hears your name. Most teams have quietly made progress on the first and none at all on the second.

This session is about the second one, with enough of the first to stop your team wasting hours on prompts that were never going to work. It sits inside the wider marketing and growth training I run for teams and leadership groups.

What has actually changed

Search used to end at a list of links. Increasingly it ends at an answer, and the answer names three providers.

If your business is not one of the three, you are not ranked poorly. You are absent, at the exact moment somebody is deciding. And the signals that get you into that answer are not the signals that got you to page one. Some overlap. Several do not.

That shift has picked up a name, generative engine optimisation, or GEO, which simply means shaping what you publish so an AI answer can pick you up and repeat you accurately. You do not need the acronym to do the work, but you will hear it, so we cover what sits behind it in plain English.

That shift is the whole subject. Everything else in the session is downstream of it.

What we cover

Shaped to the room, but this is the spine.

Where you currently stand. We look at your own business live in the session, in ChatGPT, in Google’s AI results, and in Search Console. Not a slide about the theory. Your name, your competitors, your category.

Why the answer says what it says. What these systems are actually reading, which sources they trust, and why a competitor with a worse website sometimes gets named ahead of you.

The signals you control. Entity clarity, structured content, the questions your buyers actually type, third-party mentions, reviews, and how they compound. Plain English, every term translated as we go.

AI inside the team, honestly. Where it genuinely saves your people hours and where it produces content that will damage you. The line between using AI to scale real expertise and using it to manufacture noise.

What you do on Monday. Everyone leaves with their own next three actions, written down, with an owner against each.

Who it is for

Marketing teams of two upwards, and leadership groups who need to understand what they are approving. It works best when at least one person in the room owns the website.

It is not a technical SEO course, and nobody needs to be technical to follow it. If your team is starting from zero on search, say so before we book and I will build the session differently.

If you sell this to clients rather than doing it in-house, the version built for you is SEO and AI visibility training for agencies.

Jonny Ross Explaining An Idea During A Training Session

Why me rather than an AI trainer

Two reasons, and I would rather be straight about both.

The first is that I do this work commercially, every week, inside businesses. I am not teaching a subject I read about. What goes into the session is what is currently working on live client sites.

The second is that most people who can talk about the modern visibility engine cannot run it. I can. That combination is rarer than it should be, and it is the only reason this session is worth more to you than a webinar.

If, once we are in the room, it becomes clear the gap is bigger than a training day, that is a different conversation and I will say so. That is the fractional CMO seat, and I will say so rather than sell you a second workshop.

The proof

53

delegate responses across nine sessions since August 2024.

out of 5, averaging across those responses on delivery and facilitation.

The AI SEO Bootcamp is the most requested session in the catalogue and has run repeatedly for funded programmes across Yorkshire and the North East. The theme that comes back in the feedback is translation, not authority. Delegates volunteer that they understood something they had been avoiding.

“Turn very complex info into understanding will really improve both our SEO and the business goals.”

“Great structure. Simple to follow. Great foundation.”

Formats

A half day for a focused team. A full day where we work on your own site and data properly. A short programme across several weeks where the team implements between sessions, which is where the change actually sticks.

In your building, or remote. Quoted per engagement.

If you want a sense of where you currently stand before committing to anything, send me your website and I will tell you what the AI answers are saying about you. That is a short email, not a pitch.
